During our union card campaign, a majority of faculty not only signed SVA Faculty United-UAW authorization cards, but many also participated in our preliminary bargaining survey. 613 faculty participated in our survey.
While we would do more extensive surveys in order to prepare for bargaining, the results of this initial survey give a good sense of some of the main reasons why a majority of faculty have supported forming our union. The results are below for each item.
